Without the continued support of our generous members and extended community we would not be able to continue to provide the much need social inclusion and support for our members and their families.
2015 /2016 € 5,000 : Irish Public Bodies Insurance, Community Engagement fund 2015
Thank you to for granting us funding of for our project 'Talk to Me' Communication Enhancement Project, which we completed in July 2016. We organised Drama Classes, Chat Classes, Cookery Classes, we also put on a play at Christmas. The project took place in the Convent Community Hall Athboy and also in Navan , over 40 young people and juniors benefited from this funding.
February 2016 €3,000 : Smurfit Kappa Social Club Kells
Thanks to Liam Nevin who nominated the Special Hands Club to be the beneficiaries of the 2015 fundraising from the for their very kind donation of On behalf of all the members of Special Hands Thanks to to Liam and his work mates who cycled for the fundraiser, Liam fell of Bike and broke his elbow but the race went on, so Thank you Liam very much.

September 2016 : Dads Cycle for Charity Kells for €1,500
Thank you to Frankie Lynch and all the cyclists for their very kind donation.
Our 2nd Annual Christmas Fair was a huge success and an absolutely great day was had by young and old.
With the stalls filled with spectacular handmade gifts, our fantastic members yule logs and beautiful pieces of pottery, thee most divine Christmas puddings I have ever tasted, the Reindeer Food hunts, our delicious handmade sweets and treats in the ever popular Cake shop
and our wonderful Triona singing Christmas carols with the kids of all ages. Oh and we can't forget the arrival of Santa himself !
The raffle was a massive success and we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and made & baked items for us to raffle off and sell on the day.
We raised a total of €1800 for the day and the monies raised will go straight back into the group to fun our Swimming, Music, Art, Cooking classes, Chat classes and much much more.
If there is anyone who is would like to run, swim, walk, canoe, skip, cycle or do all at once! Maybe organise a raffle, a bake & book sale or any event in aid of Special hands please contact us here for sponsorship forms and charity details.
DAD'S CYCLE FOR CHARITY
The annual Dad's Cycle for charity race took place over 3 days this year. With the brave cyclist heading to Ennis in Co Clare and back.. Phew! Over the last nine years this amazing local group have raised over €70,000 for local charities and this year they very kindly donated a glorious cheque for €1500 to the group. The cheque presentation took place at our Christmas craft day where Frankie Lynch and Paddy Gogarty presenting the cheque to Theresa Olohan. Photos can be found here
THE CHRISTMAS FAIR 2014
I know, it is only September and, no you are not seeing things. I mentioned the 'C' word.
We are currently looking for people willing to help out over the course of the next 12 weeks in the run up to our annual Christmas fair. We have several fundraising events leading up to the big day planned and we will need anyone and everyone who can spare a few hours here and there to help out.

TESCO COMMUNITY FUND
The Tesco fund is giving away €1,000,000 in funding to good causes and Special Hands Activity Group need your help.
Every 6 weeks Tesco in Navan will donate up to €1000 to 3 local charities and with your help, Special Hands Activity Group can be one of those charities.
Every time you shop in Tesco you will be given the opportunity to vote for a charity of your choice and we are asking you help us by choosing Special Hands.
Anne Marie Galvin Woods has kindly agreed to be the Contact Person for Special Hands to deal with our nomination for the Tesco Community Fund at the Navan Store. The more forms we get to the box in the store in the coming week the better.
There are many things we are fundraising for: our cookery classes, swimming lessons, art and craft, dancing, horse riding and all the other out of school activities we support.
